iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and iPhone XS Max
- The phones are power-driven by the same processor, Apple’s A12 Bionic chip, so that you won’t notice any speed or performance differences.
- All three (3) phones also run iOS 12, the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system for iPhone and iPad, out of the box.
- All of them support wireless charging.
- The XS, XR, and XS Max have the same front camera for selfies and Face ID.
- Its rear cameras are also nearly identical, despite the iPhone XR having one more miniature lens than the XS and XS Max.
- They all have similar designs. They look like the iPhone X of 2017, with its nearly edge-to-edge display and “notch” cutout for the front camera system.
- The 6.1-inch XR has a slightly larger screen than the 5.8-inch iPhone XS.
- However, neither phone compares to the Max’s giant 6.5-inch screen.
- However, the XR has the best battery life of all – it has around 16 hours on a single charge, which is approximately three hours longer than the XS battery.
- Both phones will survive well in the rain, but the iPhone XS is slightly more waterproof than the iPhone XR.
- XS and XS Max restraint 3D touch, you can click on the screen for additional menu options. The iPhone XR doesn’t support 3D Touch, but it has a similar system where tapping and holding the screen brings up the menu options.
- The XS and XS Max are funding 2X optical zoom, where you can zoom in without losing quality.
- And also the XS and XS Max are present in just three colors: black, gold and silver.
- However, the iPhone XR is present in six colors: white, black, red, blue, yellow, and coral.
Pros and cons to every phone
- The iPhone XR is cheaper and has better battery life than the iPhone XS. It is hampered by a poor screen that looks very dull and almost sunken during my time with it.
- Apps and movies don’t look decent. Meanwhile, the iPhone XS has one of the most delicate screens you’ll have on any smartphone.
- The XR comes in new colors than the XS, but I wouldn’t say I liked the colors’ look.
- Aside from the black and white colors and the iPhone XS, the red, yellow, blue, and coral colors looked vulgar on the iPhone XR.
- The XR is undoubtedly a good phone, but most people would be happier with the XS.
- If you have a huge hand, you might like the iPhone XS Max, but it seemed too complicated.
- The XS is a perfect balance – it has a better screen than the XR, it’s not as big or expensive as the XS Max, it’s comfortable to hold, and it’s great to use.
- You won’t be upset with the iPhone XS – for me, and it’s the clear winner.
