Instagram users reported seeing a message with a 5xx server error message.
A 5xx code means that the problem was caused by a problem with the server.
Typically, the error occurs when the server cannot fulfil the user’s request and will continue until the server administration investigates the problem.
It is also significant to note that a server chain often processes an HTTP request, so it may not be your server that returns the error.
According to the DownDetector website, over 600 messages were detected in the 15 minutes until 4:45 pm.

A 5xx code indicates that the server triggered the problem. With a 5xx code, the request can be unchanged, and you will get the desired result when the server has been repaired. With the 4xx code, the client or user usually has to correct an error before trying again, but few exceptions exist. You can learn about the most acceptable practices for 4xx codes.
5xx Errors
5xx errors are due to the server being incapable of fulfilling a seemingly effective appeal from a guest. Frequently, you will need the help of a server administrator to investigate them.
It is also essential to remember that a server chain often processes an HTTP request, so it may not be your server that returns the error.

This error is usually due to an incorrectly configured proxy server. However, the problem can also arise when IP communication between back-end computers is poor, when the client’s server is fraught, or when a firewall is malfunctioning.
The initial step in resolving the problem is to clear the client cache. This action should involve using a different proxy to determine the webserver content by planning it with content calendars.
503 Service Not Available
This error occurs when the server is temporarily unable to process requests due to a temporary overload or because of the temporary shut down of the server temporarily for maintenance. The error indicates that the server is only temporarily inactive. You may see other errors instead of 503.
Contact the server administrator if the problem persists.
